king/corn x backcrossed to calking

willzy May 21, 2007 06:08 AM

Hey People - I have a cali corn x

He's a reult of mating a Cali mountain king/corn x with a pure cali king.....so 66%king/33%corn.....ish!

I also have a pure normal corn

Can anyone tell me which is likely to turn out bigger as an adult please?

Also, I'm trying to tame him but it seems he goes back to being v. nervous and shy, sometimes he'll let me , other times flicking and squirming and pooing.....any tips please? I want to get him as calm as the corn but I guess it's not inherent. Proper split personality this one!

1 more please guys! An easy 1 probably but couldn't find an answer searching the web. Do male or female normal corns turn out bigger as adults?

Many thanks if anyone can help

Willzy

I am sorry I can not help with your other questions but in my breeding stock my females tend to be bigger than the males.

Try the hybrid forum. It is under general topics. You should get a better response about the junglecorn-ish snake.
In my experience, females get bigger than males. Especially if they are not bred.
I dont know of any tricks to taming snakes. All I have heard is more handling. I have a jungle corn (50% CAL KING P CORN) that looks a lot like your snake. She has the attitude of the king. She will hiss and rattle her tail. Once picked up, she is better. Also, she has eggs like a king, fewer, larger eggs. My male Jungle corn is just skittish, not grumpy.
Goodluck

here are older pics of my female, two of my male
