New Female

Raveness_d May 21, 2007 05:50 PM

Lola arrived Thursday afternoon. She's a belated birthday gift from my very supportive (and understanding!) s/o, who graciously allowed me to pick her out at his expense.

But enough of that. Here are a few pictures of my almost 6' lady.

and, because I think it's special, Lola's "heart":

For good measure, here's Quetzal, Lola's future boy-toy.
Boid in blue!

I noticed the heart right away from the first picture, but I am most impressed with the Olimpic Rings on her back (the middle of the second pic really shows this!)

I thought those were rather unique myself, though I didn't liken them to Olympic Rings until you pointed them out.

Good eye!

She's a hottie! Nice dark markings on her. What color are her crescents? I hope she's not too much woman for your little guy to handle.

Her dark markings are what drew me to her. That, and the way she seems to darken rather than lighten toward her belly in a gradient.
Her crecents are very light and crisp. Almost white.

Quetzal's got a lot of growing up to do before he can take her on.

She looks a lot like a Female that I picked up from a guy in Florida last spring. It's funny you mention the darkening towards the sides. Mine does that as well. Mine is also a beast. She was 6 feet and 9 pounds! Again, great snake. Good luck with your breeding project.

And don't forget the elephant or mickey mouse ears a few dorsal blotches "upstream" from the olympic rings. Quite the selection of "cloud images" on your new female.

Quetzal is one hot looking BRB, hope he does not give the new girl a complex! Please post pics of him after he sheds>

And congrats on the new acquisition!!

Lola's heart is cool but what makes her great and unique are those crescents and the color or the lack there of, very very pretty and different

I fell in love with her at first sight. I had the option of taking a High Orange baby, or her... and I'm extremely happy with my descision.

I can't wait to see what she and Quetzal will end up throwing... the next few years are going to have me rather impatient.

Lola is a marvelous present; the heart makes her an especially apt one from you s/o!

My sole BRB was a birthday gift too (for a birthday that won't happen until June). I like the significant patterns some snakes have (like Lola's heart); one of the things I like about Loki is the clear "V" he has on his back (for Valois, of course). He was obviously meant for me

Quetzal is absolutely gorgeous!

Thank you! It was a great one.
I thought the heart was apropos myself.

Well, of COURSE the "V" means he's yours. He's monogrammed and everything!

Danielle,
..I just love them big stout females. First thing I thought when I saw yours was what a great breeder she should be.
Happy late Birthday!
Jeff

Thank you for the b-day wishes.

I'm looking very forward to starting on my breeding projects. I know I have a few years to go, but it doesn't diminish the excitement!
