Picture time again

Brad Alexander May 21, 2007 09:51 PM

These first two are still very small, but someday in the future I plan to introduce them to each other.

The next two were supposed to be a pair, but turned out to be two females. I guess it could have been worse LOL.

Sub-adult female

Sub-adult female

Sub-adult male (?)

Adult female (one of those that started out super nice looking but we all know how they can change).

Sub-adult male

Adult female fat with eggs. I didn't care for her all that much at first, but she's grown on me a bit.

Sub adult ? This one was thrown in as an extra in a group of animals I purchased from Russ. Thanks Russ, this is turning out to be one of the best out of the group.

AND... A couple of Hueco alterna for good measure

Still have several more to photograph.

All for now,

Brad

WOW! Those are some phenonimal looking Thayeri. Can you tell me who produced them? I know some of them are from Russ who always has high quality animals, but who produced the rest? Also, your alterna are some of the best I've seen. Awesome looking snakes! Thanks for sharing the pics.

Well, lets see if I can remember them all by site here. I went through a period of buying like crazy and didn't keep records all too well, I just knew at the time that I trusted the seller. I have several more still to get updated photographs from. Many were in the blue and a few were FAT with eggs.

the one you thought was from Ken was actually from Rick Millspaugh of San Diego. I was just checking out Rick's Photobucket and noticed this snake there labled "sold to Brad".

You are absolutely correct, now I remember. DUH!

I wish I had produced him Brad. I would have never got rid of him. lol. Awesome snakes.

I'll just give you your money back and we'll call it even (LOL).
Just kidding, it's good to see he has turned out so well though. Ken, I can't keep all the ones I like, I would have 100's.

Gorgeous! Two females in that second pair, huh? I could help you out and take that third one pictured off your hands for you.

Brad Alexander May 22, 2007 09:36 AM

LOL, I figured someone would like to do that. I'm not in love with that style of thayeri, but I like it well enough to keep her for now. When I went on my thayeri buying spree, my goal was to get a nice variety of color and patterns and then decide later what I thought I had to have. It's getting close to time to start weeding through many of these animals (some pictured, some not).

Always look forward to your pics. Glad to see one of that female.

Wish I'd learned to use the camera a bit better before sending her off.

Brad Alexander May 22, 2007 09:21 AM

Although she is a darker orange now, it's much cleaner than the picture depicts. The photo exagerates the tipping. Still small, so there will be changes. But she is shaping up to be a sweet snake.

I know I over use this picture but this is my favorite thareri and its the tipping that really does it for me. In this case I think it adds to the pattern more than detracts from the color.

You know Brad I was just wondering how those snakes turned out. The melanin or tipping on the female yellows is pretty typical. Males tend to hold the yellow better for longer periods of time. My founding male now 9 years old is just now showing his age/melanin. Not bad considering the awesome hatchlings he produces when paired to some of the ladies in the snake room. Glad to see the freebie is turning out to be a good one for you.

As always your photography skills are exceptional. I wish I could trade you those skills for a year or two worth of thayeri production Thanks for sharing the pics.

Very cool!!! I wouldn't mind having any of those in my collection. When you're ready to weed some of those out, let me know!
