Anyone have experience with children's pythons? I'm considering getting one... how would you rate their difficulty to maintain? What is their max size? Thanks.

I really like children's pythons. They are pretty underrated in my opinion. They stay small, around 3 feet, and are fairly slender bodied. They can be tricky to start on mice as hatchlings, but most usually start eating mice without too much hastle. Some say theirs are snappy, but I haven't had that experience (unless they are hungry and you stick your hand in the cage). They are really easy to breed. I keep a trio together in a cage and they do very well. I give them multiple hides under a heat lamp and a moist hide on the cool end of the cage. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.

I currently have been enjoying th ecompany of a Childrens python. I have had many different pythons in the past but for some reason although small my children is my favorite. He is a great eater...enjoys being handled...well as much as a snake could enjoy being handled. He was a little defensive when we first brought him but after letting him settle for a week he has never been snippy or even stressed when i reach into his cage.
If you want to enjoy a small hassle free python then i say go for it. In my opinion the childrens are the cornsnakes of the python species.
