Okay, I work in a pet shop and have had some customers ask about the Red Iguanas that Petco across town sells. Red back, green belly. What is up with them? Anyone? I googled and got a pict of one but that is it. So what is Petco selling?
BTW, we don't do Igs at our store. I am just trying to learn to tell them what it is. TIA

There is a ****-load of posts further down and probably on the next page about red iguanas, hahahaha.
Yeah, pretty much they're reddish, not green, but are still Iguana iguana.

I have no idea how suddenly they have appeared.

Thanks, so much for searching the forum. Nothing came up with that. I will go look.
I got the impression is was just a somehow red green ig. I wondered if it was hormonally enhanced or what.

I have several of them.The older they get the green dissappears .They have been coming in for years it is a genetic trait.Flucker farms brings them in for petco.The babies are coming in now The importer i work with has a few babies.They are very cool and different.Hope this helps.Oh a breeder over in elslvador is working on breeding them to his albinos.None are available this year Yet
