Roaches

How big of a roach colony would it take to support one Bearded Dragon? Also, which is better, Lobsters or Dubias?

I'm trying to get everything sorted before I take the plunge and buy a beardie. My wife wants to get me one for father's day and I'm all for it. After dealing with crickets and mealworms, I'm looking for something else. Roaches seem like the best alternative, but I've never kept them. I'd like to feed them to my leopard geckos too. I also will probably end up with more than one bearded dragon in the long run so I don't want to be constantly buying crickets. SO, how big of a colony would it take to support itself and also feed one dragon? If anybody can answer that, I can get a pretty good idea of how many I'll need to feed the rest of my critters.

Thanks for any help!

all depends on if you getting an adult dragon or a baby dragon. ive explained this so many times recently....scroll through the forum here and look for roach posts, youll find your info. you can also check the following links

dubia are much bigger slower breeders than lobsters, but still pretty fast.

lobsters are smaller, about the size of a large cricket when fully grown, breed fast, but can climb all surfaces. bugstop will help with that, it does work.
