Quetzal, Post-Shed (per-request)

Raveness_d May 23, 2007 06:29 AM

First of all, thank you all for the belated birthday wishes and kind words about Lola. She took a rat Monday with no trouble, so it seems she's settling in nicely.

We've been having some beautiful weather, so I had Quetzal out in the sun last afternoon.

For good measure (and O/T) here's a pic of my Amel Motley Corn, Druid, on feeding day.

Thank you!

I'm really no photographer, but once in awhile a nice shot will pop up.

That's exactly my premise, I'm no photographer but with a high end camera and taking dozens (ok hundreds) of pics, you can get some pretty nice ones!!

Lovely snakes! Lovely shots! I especially like the one with the geranium (very artsy) and the close-up showing all that lovely iridescence! And of course, I'm also partial to corns... (although I've never photographed mine eating).

Glad you enjoyed the pictures!

I just realized that the close-up also features dog and cat hair all over my pants. :P

I don't usually take feeding pictures myself, but I was amused at his handling of that particular prey item. To say that he's an enthousiastic feeder would be an understatement.

It's always nice to have a good healthy eater! (And since I have a couple of cats, I know what you mean about the ever-present pet hair...at least snakes don't shed ON US!

I noticed we reached Number One in the Popular Forum list (It's 5:15 pm on May 23); I don't know that we'll stay there long, but we deserve to!!! ...and of course I didn't want to start a new thread and screw up our position. LOL

Not starting a new thread!!! Lately we've been chatty and that's exactly what we need to do. Also seen a fair amount of thread hyjacking....also OK IMO. We don't need to start a new thread for everything, we all seem to find the new posts and follow the branching threads without any problems!

LOL.... this is too funny. I'm getting a kick out of how this forum is trying to find more ways to be sneaky and beat the 'system' to stay at #1. Don't get me wrong, I love being at #1..... so lets keep it up!

The first pic seems to be the consensus. It helps when you havesuch a co-operative subject.

Glad you liked the pics!

Glad you liked the pics!

People always ask if Druid is a Sunglow, usually when I take photos of his head-region. If you look further down his body, he's definitely just a Amelanistic animal, though perhaps with less white in his pattern than most. The Motley pattern usurps much of it, I think.

vs a head-shot
