What Ever Happened To The Patternless

DavidKendrick May 23, 2007 03:21 PM

I remember WAY back someone posted a picture of a Patternless boa that was born among normals, My memory is very cloudy but I could have sworn that it was a young guy that was working with Bob Clark and just happened to produce a litter of Boas from normal looking Colombians, and one of them was totally patternless...Does anyone remember that? There was pictures posted of it next to normal siblings, but I never heard anything more about them...

Are you talking about the Scoria Boa? If so you can check Rich Ihle's website, he has been luck enough to get his hands an a female Scoria.

At least I don't think, this was different, and it wasn't the Harli's either....For the life of me I can't remember...It was only posted once...

I remembered I had printed off the pic when it was posted, and had hung it on our reptile room wall, it was photographed by Steve Gooch, I remember the story being told that it was a young keeper who had 2 normal looking Colombians, and was working for Bob Clark, and he had produced a litter of babies and one of them was totally patternless...and I remember the pics being posted of it and some of the normal siblings, but I never heard anything again about it...I remember it being totally different than the Scoria Boa though...Anyone remember???

I snapped a crappy picture of the pic I printed off back when it was posted...This was years ago...

the Harlequin litter. Brendan Magee knows who it was but haven't seen him around here in quite a while. Here is a picture of his one (of four) remaining patternless from that litter and the only remaining siblings, which I own. I can't wait to breed these girls this fall.

Dustin Davis is the one who produced the snake in Gooch's photo. I was actually lucky enough to have stopped by while that picture was being taken, and I have to say that it is a beautiful animal. Dustin is from Oklahoma and last I spoke to him the boa was doing well. He has a website http://www.davisconstrictors.com with other pictures, and Im sure if anyone wanted to dig back far enough, there is a thread in the archives that probably has the whole story on the boa.

he be selling 50% hets? I may be biased but I think these are sexier. There were also 4 out of 9 in this litter. She is actually incredibly pink with faint striations the entire length of her body.

Ty,
I understand what your saying, but I dont think Dustin is trying to mislead anyone. The few times I've spoken with him, he has been very open and honest about the genetics behind these animals. I have never heard anything but good comments about Dustin, so if the wording on his site bothers you maybe you should talk to him.

I dont blame you for being biased....thats a great looking snake you have there!
