Probed for the first time

black_wolf May 23, 2007 08:50 PM

I went to Repticon over the weekend(last), and bought a 3 piece probe set (smaller ones). Well today I went to prob my snake and as usual, when you wanna do something they just gotta move. Anyways I was able to get her tail for a few and I probed her. Got down to 5 scales and it stopped. Did I do it right? I was going as gentle as possible since it's my first probing. when I got her they said she was female, but they tried popping instead of probing.
And how long should you wait after feeding to prob a snake? I feed her Friday that's why I waited so long.

If you are sure you went 5 scales then it should be a male... I think females stop at 3. Ball pythons are fun to probe. I have almost lost the probe on a few...
