looking to upgrade to stackable tanks ..

jwile May 23, 2007 11:16 PM

Hello all

I am just wondering what you guys and gals would reccomend for stackable tanks for my uros and eventually my beardie ...

I have had these guys for years and been collecting for a bit even though i am a younger guy still ..25 .... and like everyone i have i passings through the years of a few herps and honestly the 4 i have remaining are the guys that are going into the will hahahha ..kidding ..or am i

anyways ... i have 2 uros, both are in there own enclousers ..the yougnest is a captive bred (herman ) great guy and time for a bigger enclouser getting big ... and theres oliver who was my first uro and to my knowledge is wild caught and currently resides in a 40 gallon breeder tank . I am going to start by changing the 2 uros first cause i am doing my herp room over .

Was wondering if the visionarium stackable tanks are really as nice as i'v heard ? i have always heard vision cages were the best but then i saw what someone meant by heat over time bows them good ...friend of mine had one housing his beardie for honestly year or so and it started to show...I'v just seen how the visionarium tanks assemble and was just curious if they really are nice and hold all the weight and whatnot ?

sorry for the banter but i really needed to ask before i purchased two for these guys ... the beardie is next ...the tortoise luvs his home still ..havnt heard any groans hahahah :_

thanks a bunch everyone

Visionariums are currently the size of 20 gal long tanks. So if you need something larger than that, then you need another alternative (unless Vision came out with a larger model...) They are nice in that they can stack, and Vision sells a screen top with holes for a flush-mount ceramic light fixture that they provide as well. Nice setup. And the plastic bottom is easier to clean than a siliconed glass bottom.

Vision cages (not the Visionariums) are good, but the molded construction limits modifications. I would look to a cage more taylored for lizards, like www.precisioncaging.com models - the 24"w x 20" deep model is very nice.

Wow exactly what i was looking for ... ya but i figure i would need bigger for the uros...?? the tanks there in now are 36' long ..40 gallon ... or would the depth make up for the lost space? just trying to do the math in my head...

they are very nice cages

oh boy love shopping hahahaha too many questions
