I think Brandon was being modest not putting himself on that list. You couldn't go wrong with one of his critters. Top notch guy!

I would also include Greg Maxwell too. Since he is the one that wrote the book on keeping these great creatures.
Not just Greg, but Rob Worrell, Rich Culver, Michael Hance, and plenty of others. There are some great deals from actual BREEDERS.

Rob Worrell all the way! I purchased my chondro from his May 00'Jade clutch.

Thanks Ben. I see you noticed "ME" in there. lol. As I said, lots of great people on MVF and Chondroweb. Can't go wrong with any of them......well, almost any of them.
Brandon Osborne
Yeah, Brandon..damn...of all the times I have referred you to folks!!! *grin..poke, poke*!
Rich Culver
Rich, funny you should say that. lol. I had a buyer lined up for a critter and she said you had one she wanted as well. I couldn't help but tell her what a great guy you were and she'd be silly to pass up on your animals. Unfortunately, you had already sold your's and financial issues kept her from getting mine. Oh well. I don't mind keeping them all. Too bad you live in the Tundra......you miss out on so many great chondro events. One of these days....................
Thanks

I would suggest you think about what you are looking for in your GTP. If you goal is to have a beautiful snake, that exhibits the traditional look of a GTP- nice green color, with possibly a bit of yellow along the belly, and s touch of blue or white markings you do not need to spend $1000.
There are many great breeders here that have great reputations and animals with a lot of history. But you will pay for it.
I am seriously looking into picking up a pair from http://www.sprucenubblefarm.com . Their prices are very fair, and you can get a very well started animal. They may not have big name breeding stock, but their prices reflect that.
They will also answer your questions and not give you the “Are you going to buy it or what” attitude. I feel more comfortable spending $600 on an established animal (with a year long guarantee) then taking a $400 gamble on a maybe captive bred, maybe farm raised, maybe wild caught baby.
Just my feelings and no offense to anyone.
Farmed babies are not for the inexperienced.
Despite what sellers of farmed babies will tell you.

No, a 4 figure baby is not ideal for a beginner. However a farmed baby (no matter how cheap) is not appropriate for a beginner either.
I would suggest investigating some of the more chondro specific forums out there before making a purchase from anyone. You will find many well established USCB babies by visiting other sites. Often times for $400-$500 price tags.
A true breeder of green tree pythons will bore you to tears showing you pics and giving you info on the dam, sire, eggs, hatchlings, etc.
Feel free to drop me an email if I can be of further help.

I have no problems with experienced hobbyists purchasing farmed animals, as they know that they are taking a gamble, and have more skills to draw from when caring for the animal. Beginners are a different story...
