new year new theories

Jeff Schofield May 24, 2007 02:27 AM

well I am writing having just come from my field survey of "monster island" and I am armed with new ideas.specimens and hopefully allegence as the development creeps even closer to wiping this population out. although I have found what I consider to be "morphs"again in the field.the new numbers may indicate that this may be a "phase" that is very likely genetic. with the additional data collected from several new specimens the wild ratio itself may be approaching 20 or 25 percent. with the previous finds as well as the cb baby from carl bartletts wc gravid female last year we are getting a clearer picture. it seems like maybe the green "morph"may exist within a line of these "dark" or "anery" that we have found. pics to follow as the animals are in bad shape.every one with blister when found......maybe the "dark"line exists on this rocky outpost because the weather extremes select for it?? not sure but I am through arguing it. I will likely be looking for volunteers with histories of raising difficult feeders to take part in my breeding program later in the year. things could change but maybe if I try this approach I can interest more serious discussions on the matter. will post pics next week.jeff

Hey Jeff how the hail are ya?
So you are still obsessed with those funny looking snakes from that island of yours I see. How many did you find this time? I bet it weren't nothing like that certain herpitologist claimed it was like back in the 60s. Are they still building there? I thought they were supposed to be limiting development. Hard to believe anyone could afford to build there these days, especially witht he cost of fuel. Why don't you post some recent pics of them animals?
PS Find any temporalis lately?

though I wouldn't call it obsessed I certainly want the work I have done on these animals to result into something. I am still on my mobile device so I am still on island. giving them tlc at this point can hopefully alliviate stress a nd strain on them.pics will follow when they shed out.thanks.jeff
