Yellow Heads

tdobrov May 24, 2007 03:28 AM

I am interested in getting a CB young male yellow head.

1)What are the regional differences Re:temperment/colour? ie Sulawesi, Thai, Burm stock etc like Emerald Tree Boas (Basins vs Northerns)?
I am of course looking for the most mellow and most yellow.

2)Anyone know of someone who specializes in CB Yellow Heads?
I think Bob Clarkes are imported and there are no photos on site.

I have raised several anacondas, burms and het retics.
Thanks!
Tom

Notah is well known for producing great yellowheads of different localities. He is a poster on this forum, so maybe he'll jump in soon.

I would check with The Creature Company.

Each snakes is an individual but as a general rule Sulas tend to be aggressive and get very large. Ambon Island yellowheads are beautiful but tend to be flighty. As has been mentioned, Notah Howe produces very beautiful CBB yellowheads that are known to be calm retics.

Bob Clark's yellowheads are from snakes originally collected inThailand. Thai retics are known for calm dispositions. His yellowheads are captive bred and born at his facility and are beautiful snakes too. Bill.

Thanks!
I have contacted Bob Clark and will get one soon from him.
I have not had a retic in a long time. I have been working with anacondas as of late. Kelly Hallers are excellent.
Cheers

I have a pair of Kelly and Jud's green anacondas and they are the tamest, most calm snakes I have ever encountered. The only snakes out of my 36 constrictors that I don't use a hook on but just reach in and pick up. It is ironic that when I introduce a person to snakes the first one they hold is a green anaconda-that breaks all the rules-lol. Kelly and Jud are real good gentlemen to deal with. I hope your greens are doing well. Bill.

I can tell you he is very well educated when it comes to reptiles and amphibians in general. Though he specializes in 'condas , it would be safe to say, he has other talents, some people may not have noticed.

Translation : I read way too many posts on way too many different forums.

Helps one pick up on these things!
