How long till they lay?

rugha May 24, 2007 06:29 AM

I hear 28-30 days after they shed? Is that correct or can it vary greatly? I have a big orange ghost girl who was due(30 days) a few days ago, still has not laid. No question she is gravid - I can count every single egg.

SO what is the norm here, or is there a norm?

Thanks!

WJ

My last clutch was laid on the 30th day POS. I think it is more accurate to count from the date of ovulation though. If you use the date of ovulation I think the eggs would be expected 45 days from that date?

49.......30.........24........56.......

today I have a pastel poss het green ghost laying.....right now.......it is day 50 past shed.....

....this year I have had a few more in the upper 40's...

I had a het amel lay...according to her card it was day 83......?......but I do make mistakes and forget to write stuff down........

.....years ago I would get like 6 clutches or so or less.......and they actually DID lay on day 30 half the time or more and close to it the rest........now I can't figure them out at all........one reason is sometimes I still have a male in there and mix up who actually shed......but that isn't aften.....

......it takes all year to get eggs.......no matter when you get them it will be another year till she goes again......
