You may want to get a hold of Phil Peak, I believe he's breeding Kentucky stock. He also has a very well done web site devoted exclusively to the Black King. You can get his e-mail on Pituophis.org. Best of luck, L.g. nigra are super animals, very underrated.

I hope to breed Monmouth County Pines, Oregon Cal Kings, and Delaware Corns, maybe Eastern Fox, but I'm not holding my breath with them. Raising a new collection of Pines, good locales with nominates and mugitus, more to come. May add a couple of Kings in time, maybe nigra, or holbrooki, if I find the ones I want. Glad to see you're still doing herps.

I am working with Trigg and Lyon, Ctys Kentucky and Huntsville, Alabama locales. I am also looking to obtain additional locales. I have two adult males from Huntsville and a subadult female that should be ready to breed next year. The Trigg county kings may be ready next year too. In addition to the adult/subadult Huntsville's, I also have 1.1 babies from last year(unrelated). The Lyon Cty, KY's are also babies from last year.
I totally agree with Bart. The Eastern Black Kings are highly underrated. They are a joy to work with and the babies are not difficult to get started on pinks (at least the ones that I've worked with).
I welcome any feedback/correspondence with anyone interested in Eastern Black kings. As mentioned, I am looking for additional LEGAL locales if anyone is working with these. My E-mail is: BLB1029@cs.com

You are so right, blk kings are so underrated and nothing, but a pure joy to work with both as adults and babies. I've got five right now (Huntsville locales). 2.3, but won't be breeding them till next year! Baby from last year!

Who did you get your Huntsville's from?

I have an 04 male. He's the only nigra I have in the collection as of now.
