Lola and Question About Anery Adults

Raveness_d May 25, 2007 09:35 AM

Lola is scheduled for a vet appointment this Monday. When I recieved her, he had a bit of a hiss/wheeze which I attribuited to her being in transit and out of proper humidity. After a week, she's still a bit congested sounding, so off she goes.
Wish us luck!

Also, does anyone have any pictures or descriptions of what an adult Anery BRB looks like? I did an image search, and came up with a few photos that made me suspicious about Lola.

Thanks for any help,
-----

Hey Danielle,

Sorry to hear about Lola, Hope everything turns out OK!!

I don't have any pics on an adult Anery, I do have a yearling and have pics of her. Her coloring really has not changed much during the 8 months I've had her. She has grown a normal amount for a BRB her age!

Pics:

11/03/2006 (lighting was not good in this pic, messed up colors)

3/8/2007 (this and the rest of the pics are good representations of true color)

Oooh, she's lovely! An eye-popper, for certain.

Is there any surefire way to discern whether or not an adult BRB is Anery?
Are white crescents a giveaway?

I ask, since Lola seems to be a muted colour, and pretty uniform with little contrast. She also has extremely crisp, white crescents.

I can post a couple more pics if you'd like.

Danielle,
..White crescents show up on some normal colored ones. The nose noises in BRBs are often caused by edges of incomplete shed skin inside their nares.

It's like a throaty hiss, and yesterday I noticed some congestion in her chest-area. (or what I assumed to be her chest area).
Either way, I just feel more comfortable getting her a check-up.

An incomplete shed wouldn't surprise me either, as she's got a few flakes sloughing off here and there.

Thanks for the information.

Like Jeff said, anery s not just white crescents. I've heard that some lines of Anery don't have the crisp white crescents. That's why I selected Brian Sharps line since the crescents are so white, that's what I like.

Yes, please post pics!!!!!! Many of them, we all like to drool!!!

I suppose there isn't any way to find out for sure, then.

I can oblige with pictures though! Always happy to share.

Prolly not an anery being that I only know 2 people selling anery brb's at the moment but there maybe one more. Unique animal though and I like those color crescents. If you want to find out you can always drop a chunk of change on an anery (6-7k) or half that on a het and really find out but then again you would have an anery (or het) so it is a win win situation from there

In my very limited experience (one) does not look anery to me, I base this not on the white crescents but on the overall colors in the animal. Too darn much color.

Still a good loking animal and I'd breed it back to one of it's offspring to prove if it is anything genetic. Much cheaper than going the purchase an anery or het anery route!!

There is indeed a way to tell her genetics, You just have to breed her a few times and keep track of the babies. A son to mom cross is the quickest route.

Nice light Rainbowboa...

Thank you. I'm partial to her myself. She's actually a Brazilian, or at least that's what she was sold to me as.
