Does anyone breed during the summer months? Do you follow the normal procedures like temp dropping and what not? Are you successful at it?

the answer would be Yes.........

but if you have girls that are just now big enough or were breeding since last October and still won't get fat or "take" as it is........go ahead and keep trying.......you can feed and breed balls all year long....and sooner or later they will drop eggs.......maybe some in odd months...people do it all the time....all year long.....

,,,,,,,,if my girls took ,fine and if not ,oh well.......I just give up breeding them by now due to breeding the corns and all for 2 clutches each......it takes alot of time......I will throw a ball together from time to time but not like all winter.....

o-yes by the way as to (wild ball suck) all Ball Pythons are wild animals and you should know and remember that or are you saying something about yours inpertickuler . David of DS Reptile Rescue

wild as in more than a few months old from Africa not "think they are wild" and not really a loney dovey pet from my bsement in Pa...........

I don't have pets....I have breeders.......yea....I know......

and mine in particular were sold if they were from Africa ,except a few yellowbellies, and yes they pretty much suck......2 out of 3......

Well I'll take a wild cout over one that is from a long line of inbreeding or as they say sulective breeding so I'ed at least have a clue as to what I had !! but I guess that is just my Opinion and you have yours but with your last post you made it clear that you are just after the almighty dollar .me I have wild pets and friends . yes....I do it for the cash.....I like all kinds of animals and cannot keep a pair of each and every thing in the world.....so I have to keep small things....I either feed them ,sell the babies, or eat them......you eat meat?...farmers do not raise cows and pigs and chickens for the "pet" thought in it.....it's for cash money and to feed people.....

you keep wild types?......how many?...anyone that keeps more than one of any type or color of snake...or anyone that keeps snakes in racks.....does it for the potential profit....people that keep balls as pets get a huge cage with a glass front so they can see them all the time and keep 3 or less......

and in my opinion....anyone that runs a rescue is wierd people usually.......and free snakes is the goal......they are transferrers of mites and disease and if they really love the critters they would go to college and get a job in a Zoo......

.........you want a wild ball so you"know what you got"?......you got a ball.........I'll keep a captive born so I really know what I got......and all balls are not inbred that much so get over it.....wow.......breeders don't keep daddy and babies forever and most are outbred to a different girl from the first breeding......

wild rabbit in a cage.......domestic in a cage.........who's happier?............(besides the 2 I put in the fridge this morning).......

......farmers and herpers......tell that to Pete Kahl...that's what he called his company....a farm...as a way to keep it in the county he lived in.......we are farmers..we just make more babies is all...you don't have to eat what farms make.....farms make compost and flowers too but ...you know.....

........."like me...come and go"......been around breeding stuff since the early 70's........you funny..........I didn't say I made that much cash and I didn't say I quit my day job.....I also am not in debt at all with snakes and not a whole lot in life in general......I never put a snake on a credit card......and I don't take free stuff from idiots........

Yes you follow the same protocol but you may have to cool a little longer and it will not work if you are cooling a second time ,like you cooled in Oct. tried to breed in March and it did not take and now tri to cool in June . That will not work but if you did not cool in Oct. you can cool now . But you will need to skip a year to get them back to a normal breeding season . Of coerce there are exceptions to the rule that mite occur . But for the best results it would need to be first time breeders , at least that has been my experience . As long as you can get a drop in temps at night. My snakes started going at it last year around August.
