Eggs... How many should she be laying within a month? More...

Chrysemys Aug 15, 2003 06:54 PM

Ok, I got my first batch of eggs about 3 weeks ago. I am pretty sure those are fertile and coming along nicley. She then layed a 2nd batch about a week and half after she layed the first batch. Those look infertile but I have them in the incubator just in case. They have a yellowish look to them and have not hardened up very well... Infertile? She then just layed another batch this afternoon (8/15/03). These look larger than both batches and are nice and white and are hardening up nicley. My question is, is she laying to many eggs? I keep her with my male 24/7. Is it possible that both 1st and 3rd batch are fertile, even though it was over a short pwriod of time? Any other info that you think would be helpfull is welcome. Thanks,
Chris D.

3 clutches over a month is pretty fast, but some are just fast layers. My female layed 5 clutches in 50 days, like a clutch every ten days. hope this helps
