The best advice I can give you is DO NOT GET A LOAN!

i'm not a breeder, and I hope no one gets mad at me for putting my 2 cents in, but I do know from that I have read and researched that breeding pythons isnt a get rich quick kind of thing. It takes time to raise up snakes to breeding weight and size, and if you buy snakes that are all ready to go, they can be costly. If you go into this with debt on your shoulders, it will be that much more difficult to maintain that monthly payment while waiting for your Investment to return dividends. You might start to cut corners and the health of your snakes could suffer. (Don't get mad, I'm not saying you would do this, but I"m sure someone out there knows someone that was in the same boat) Start with a few normals, get some experience under your belt. You will probably enjoy it more because you don't have the stress of making that monthly loan payment. Like I said, i'm not a breeder of snakes and i dont have the experience of anyone here, but just my 2 cents. You can take or leave it.. good luck.

Well said. I completely agree. I enjoy my snakes as a hobby, and I think it's more fun without the pressure. I think it's probably unwise to go into debt to invest in any animal. Animals, no matter what kind, are a risky investment. They don't always cooperate, stuff happens, and things don't always work out like you plan. Like I said, the snakes are a hobby for me. Most of my business experience comes from the horse industry, but I think a lot of it applies here. I've seen what happens when people spend more than they can afford to lose thinking they're going to make lots of money, and it doesn't end well. Have fun. Enjoy your snakes. If you make money, then it's icing on the cake.

I have one more piece of advice, and it's certainly worked well for me: If someone tries to sell you something by telling you about the quick return you'll get, be very careful. If it was really going to make so much money, they would probably keep it.

I know this probably isn't what you wanted to hear, but it may save you some trouble in the long run.

Thanks,
Shelly

I am a entrepnuer at heart and I also so love snakes ball pythons to be exact so what I did was first purchase a vision rack so that I could keep a number of snakes and then I went out and purchased 0.6 normal C/H babies I already had one 0.1 normal and I am now in the process of purchessing male hets 4 to be exact this will fill my first vision rack, I then will buy another rack and go from their good luck , it takes time they are animals .
