Respiratory infection ?

dinodon May 25, 2007 12:51 PM

I have a cali that hasn't been looking his normal self for a few days, I noticed a little blood on his bedding, took him out and noticed blood on his chin, I think it's comming out it's mouth, watery blood, not a lot, with no sticky mucus, his mouth isn't gaping and his toung is flicking as normal, but his breathing is just not right. I can only see the vet on monday. Is there aything I can do for him till then ?
I'v had him for 8 years and nothing has changed or happend like temp drops or anthing.
Thanks for any advice.

If you have a myspace account try asking here:

groups.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=groups.groupProfile&groupID=105831898

Some vets that deal w/ reptiles read that group.

I would raise temp a bit but ask there.

Thanks for the response, but he died, this morning. I sent him to the vet and he said it looks like the animal has been hit none of the ribs were broken but the lung was.
I have a room full of snakes and am happy to hear it's not a disease.
But just wondering how this could have happend, his cage is 100% safe and he is treated with care and repect. If any of you have had somthing like this happen to your snake please let me know.
The vet said he would send me pics, let me know if you want to see them ? .

I have never had this happen, but I'm very interested in how this was caused. My kingsnake loves to climb to the top of the cage, and she always falls so now I'm wondering if something will happen to her in the future...

Anyway, I would really be interested in seeing pics.
