Bakers Crossing Info

The phone number for Bakers Crossing is (432) 292-4503. It costs $10/person/night and is primative. I was told that you could drink water from the river if you found a spring. I may have to spend a night or two out there.

I remember years ago I pulled off at bakers crossing to shoot the breeze and wake back up a little bit before cruising again. Turned off my flashlight because I was tired of bugs flying into my face. A few seconds later I had a hand on my crotch in the dark. And it was not an accidental bumping, but a full on cupped handful of the family jewels.

very creepy... I was stunned and speechless... I just turned my light on backed up and left without saying a word.

Anyway, I have not hunted Juno road much in the last 10 years, I get this strange bad vibe from the road....

I had some friends that went down to baker's from Lubbock and Midland to camp before cruising that night. Some campers informed them that they would need to pay a fee at a house across the road. Upon arriving at the house, they were met by a man on the porch with nothing on but shirt, socks, shoes and holding a ticket book. Needless to say they decided instead to stay and hunt over near Pecos bridge S. of Pandale.

Could this be the same guy?

I've done the 3 day devils river trip three times and yes there are numerous springs. We always put in a bakers crossing and take out three days later and get a ride back by the outfitter. I have found a few herps on the trip but no alterna thus far. We've drank out of a few of the springs with no problems (so far) .
