Cage Top.

AndrewFromSoCal May 25, 2007 05:25 PM

So I acquired a 40g tank, but it doesn't have a sliding top. It's the type of tank that has an indentation (like for glass tops)

How would you guys suggest I make the strongest top? My biggest boy that will probably go in there is about 3 feet long.

Thanks!

you can buy screen tops or class sliding tops to fit just about any standard size aquarium. Or you can make a tight fitting wooden frame and staple aluminum or vinyl screen on it. Clamps can be used to secure the screen to the cage top as well.

Would a snake not be able to push up one of those standard screen tops that simply fit over the top? I'm slightly afraid to try it.

then make a top with 1/2 inch metal wire mesh and 1 x 4 inch wood...........it will be heavier........not too expensive........

yes they can squeeze and push alot of stuff up and out......

.......velcro glued to sides as clips?.....some people strap around the cage........

books on top don't work.......
