Spilling water!

Jeannie Aug 15, 2003 07:48 PM

Moxie is doing great so far. He's been spending a couple hours in his pen every day, with me babysitting him (we're building the top this weekend, so he'll be able to spend more time out there without someone sitting right next to him). He's eating and pooping a little every day. Everything seems good, but...

He spills his water every day. I've tried small containers (like a Sunny Delight lid), larger containers like Tupperware lids, but he manages to spill everything. I can't find anything heavier that doesn't seem too deep. Do I have to leave water in for him all the time? He is soaked for 15-30 minutes daily.

Thanks for your help!

Try the bottom of a flower pot, the dish that goes under the pot actually. I have a plastic one that is just the right depth for my hermanns but they sell ceramic too that is nice and heavy.

I use the terra cotta flower pot saucers that prettykitty mentioned, they are shallow and heavy enough not to tip. The ones that are glossy on the inside are easier to clean

Ever heard of terracotta? So what if your tort spills his/her water. It's no biggie so stop whinning and be happy that your tort is doing fine.
