I would like to know your opinions of my new yellow belly....This is Captive bred and comes from a very reputable breeder...
It just looks different...What does everyone think?
Thanks Andy

sorry dude, sweet snake but based on the part of the belly that you got in the shot... not a yellowbelly.
I think you may have missed the part that said they are captive bred yellow bellies....they were not in question as to if they were yellow bellies...Because they are yellow bellies...I have 5 of them....I was wondering if anyone thought the nose spot meant anything.
The spot nose balls I have seen have a different head pattern...but I wondered if being a yellow belly could change that?
you got the 5 of them from, cause there's no way that's a yellow belly. The top looks possible but judging from the belly pics, there's just no way. That belly is completely average.
I hatched het albinos with the 2 nose spots.......means nothing........
and the belly on yellowbellies I have all look like yellow bellies....and they are from wild stuff......
........you got normals.......and normally ripped........
reputable.........?????????

Lookin at your snakes vs. the snakes pictured in the other posts, I'd have to agree with them that it's not a yb. Maybe try taking the pictures with better lighting? If you've got heatlamps, stick regular lightbulbs in a couple of them and then shine them on a white sheet. If you use 100 watts, you shouldn't need a flash on the camera and you'll be able to capture the colors better.
My "spotnose"
I actually used a pillowcase, not a sheet, but you get the idea. Simple point-and-click camera.

Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks Jenny,
That looks like a cool snake...
Now what is a spot nose...and what is its purpose? I have heard of it making a powerball but I don't know what that is either...lol..
I need some education in Ball pythons...
Does anyone have any pics of a powerball?
What does the powerball make?
She's not a real "spotnose", she's just a pretty normal.
Powerballs are pretty awesome looking, looks like a spider on steroids. Dave and Tracy Barker made 'em in 05, if they have a website that'd be the place to check for pics.

That one looks about as much as a YB as this one (and he isn't).
Are you SURE you got the right snake?

he has 5 of them..one in a pic looks close but I still wouldn't buy it.......
.......yellowbellies .......the new swampland......emu?.......wait....emus are like $8 ........yellowbellies are still 20 times that much......
.........we all think you got ripped and lighting has nothing to do with it....
spotnosed and spots on a nose are not the same.......

why the snakes in the pics are not yellowbellies? Is it because there are not many flames that start at the belly? Thanks, Melisa
I didn't read it before I posted it.
Have you posted pics of all 5? Too me, I do not see the big time blushing and flames and the odd dorsal color that I associate with a YB. I am no expert though.
Dave
Sure doesn't look like one to me.

Just to give you an idea of a good example of a yellow belly this is my founding male from my own line of yellow bellys. He was a pet for 12 years before I stumbled upon him. Paul at Steel City Exotics

notice the odd color on top and belly

Yes I think you were ripped off as well. I dont care how reputable the breeder was those are not yellow bellies. Even with my poor photography skills you can see mine is a het ivory.

As was stated by others I would bring it up to the reputable breeder about getting my money back.

Breed it anyway. Does not look like a Yb to me. But they said that about my male YB as well. This is one that was hatched last year.
