If anyone's interested, I have a clutch cooking and should get another soon. Should hatch around the end of July.

The pic is of the father. After being caught as an adult near Ajo in 1988, he has just this month started to lose weight and his health is deteriorating rather quickly. He still had enough spunk to father this last batch of eggs. Not bad, he started a group of chucks that's now in it's seventh generation. The female that laid the eggs was caught on his same boulder, and shows no signs of slowing down yet.

Hey BJ! I haven't seen a post from you in a LONG time! I have a male Chuckwalla that was probably 8 or 9 years at least when I got him. That was in 1993. So he's got to be in his 20's now. Same with the female that was caught with him. He is slowing down now and losing wait, but still goes through te courtship ritual. I really expect to lose him any time now. The female is still in good shape, although she has a little arthritis at her elbows.
Can you do us all a favor?? If you still have it, you once posted a picture of a hatchling still curled in it's egg. I kept that picture as a screen saver for a long time, but I have lost it now. Please please post it again, if possible. It was SO unique!
