Wondering About Getting Amazon Basin ETB

badcompnay May 26, 2007 11:42 PM

Just wanted to know maybe some general tips on them.

I hear they are easier to handle than normal ETB's and a little bit calmer. I love the dark dark green coloration on them.

Im also curious as to max size they grow...do they differ in size due to where they are from compared to other ETB's?

Whats the best sized enclosure for a full blown adult?

If im missing anything else plz let me know

Amazon basins will grow from 4 to 7 feet. Females being much heavier than males

At least 50% of them are handeable. Some not like to be handled, but an agressive (like an ATB) one is almost rare to find. If you start with a CBB it will most certainly be tame.

for a big female I´d say you should have a cage around 90cmX70cm and 90-100cm high. Most of the time they will be coiled in the branches, but once the lights go off and the temps drop a few degrees they become active and will use all the space you can provide.
Males can be housed well in 70X70X70cm.

They are easy to keep once you learn everything before you buy. If you manage to keep the temperature, vetilation and humidity in the optimum levels and dont overfeed you will have no troubles at all.
