I find Rough Green snakes in my front yard every so often. Earlier this summer I found about 4 at once.

Other than that, I don't know of any definate place off-hand other than just suggesting any place thats wooded.

Check out the DFW Herp Society forum elsewhere on these pages. They've been doing some survey stuff in the FWNC (Fort Worth Nature Center?) But, no collecting allowed.

BTW, there are no corns in the DFW area. Great Plains Rat snakes and Texas Rat snakes, yes, but corns generally are east of the Mississippi River (except for some corn/rat intergrades in the Louisiana area.)

Yah the FWNC is a good place to photograph herps of all kinds, even heard theres a few gators in the river, but still havent seen em, even though they have been photographed. Be carefull pokein around, the dudes that run the place go ballistic when they see you walking around with a hook. And deffinatly stay to the trails, they freak out when they see you walking off the beaten path. Like the previous post said, get hooked up with DFWHS, the have field trips regularly, some at night, and they get to wander all over and flip logs and such. There are alot of rats, racers, copperheads and cottonmouths, not to mention the different species of lizards and scinks. skinner
