Use a mouse to scent a washed/rinsed rat. I usually wash and rinse the rat, then put it in a ziploc w/ the mouse. Shake it up and let it sit for a couple minutes. Gradually reduce the amount of scenting until it takes rats.

Yes, get them eating f/t.

For any given animal this is my approach-

1) Aquisition/Hatch
2) Get them eating what they want(develop a ferocious appetite)
3) Get them eating whatever they want but dead
4) Get them eating whatever they want but F/T
5) Get them eating whatever I want F/T.

Smile, enjoy adult beverage. Skip steps as appropriate.
Good luck!

I have a male Woma that looks like a rail after breeding season, yet he refuses f/t. He got bit 2 weeks ago by a "stunned" rat. Amazing how a little squeeze can wake you up, huh? My point is that it could have been MUCH worse. I've a 4' Bredl's that I'll feed a live fuzzy rat to, after which he'll immediately take an appropriately sized f/t rat. Give it a shot!

I thaw rats and mice in the same bag, and use mice and rats that are the same size/color. Feed one mouse....about a minute after your snake is done with the first mouse, present the rat in the exact same presentation.

Doesn't always work...but it is the best thing I have tried yet.

Of course the trick is doing this when they are very young.
Good luck!
