or would like to. Here is some new information to our benefit. You may recognize a name or two that helped it pass.

>>>>>>On Wednesday, May 23, NRA-backed House Bill 1815, sponsored by Representative Carl Isett (R-Lubbock) and Senator Juan Hinojosa (D-McAllen) was given final approval on the Senate Local Calendar.

This important NRA-supported measure will clarify, once and for all, that it is legal to transport a handgun in your motor vehicle for personal protection without a Concealed Handgun License (CHL), provided you are eligible to possess the firearm under state and federal law, you are not a member of a criminal street gang, and you are not committing any criminal activity at the time (other than a traffic violation) and as long as the handgun is hidden from plain view.

I have been the only member of my hunting party with a CHL for a long time and do I hope that changes soon. But if we split up with me walking and left anything in the car it has been a concern in the past.

Plus, those of you that want to make your spouse get a CHL just in case they get caught with your piece in the car one day. Now no longer need to worry with that.

I wonder if this will reduce the number of carjackings in Texas?

remember nobody loves gun control more than a criminal.
