I was wondering if small wood chips would be ok for substrate?

Ceder is toxic, and people have had mixed results with pine. Do you know what kind of wood it is?

not really sure ...it comes in a bag that the store owner put together but the wood pieces are really small...I'm going there today so i'll ask the owner what kind of wood it is..
