I used to hunt king mountain but I noticed theres gates on the roads that used to be county maintained.I have cought a couple off the east side and would like to try for some more.

The locked gate on the east side of King Mt. has been in place for 2-3 years. It was open during the day in 2005, so I scoped it out for night driving by quizzing the mechanic that maintains the oil pumpers there. He said that the place
had been leased by a new guy and he did not want anyone driving
around at any time. I did find some county dirt roads that take
you up to the south side of King. There are some choice places to walk back there and only one pump station to drive by.
