Normal coloring question

Shadow4108 May 28, 2007 10:13 PM

Nacho was bought from a petstore in town, so I'm sure he isnt a fancy morph, but I have noticed with every shed he gets brighter and brighter. Is this normal? What started as a drab yellow now rivals even this brightest banana. He's also starting to form birght orange specks in his tail. I tried to get a picture of them, but my camera wasnt cooperating and with him being in shed they dont show as bright. The picture below is just an idea, he is in shed right now and the color is quite muted. Also the black spots are fading it seems. Is this a normal color pattern? the close up with no background is the one I just took tonight. ( I was surprised at how photogenic he was he didnt move at ALL!

just cause you got him at a local pet store doesn't mean he's not "fancy". i got my super hypo tangerine carrot tail leo for 25$ at Petco. yours doesn't really look the normal kind, but it's too young to tell. and leo's change a ton from when they're babies to when they are adults, so colorchange like that is normal. good luck!

Do the birght orange tails develop slowly, or are they born with them? The spots seem to be getting lighter and lighter. Any idea what morph it is?

yes, when they are first born it is pretty close to impossible to determine what morph they will be and how extreme they'll look. yours looks like an albino, not sure what kind. there are three kinds: tremper, bell, and rainwater(las vegas) so you could look that up.
your cage looks nice by the way. just make sure the edges of the humid hide aren't too sharp.
