Update on animal cruelty post......

ZeR0 Aug 15, 2003 10:33 PM

I've been researching, and I've found the website for my cities SPCA. They have a form that you fill out describing the animal and how its being neglected so it can be helped. I'm not sure though, because it might not include reptiles and I dont think they'd be able to take the reptiles away from the store. Maybe I could tell them some stuff about leo care and say if they dont improve I'll contact the animal cruelty shelter? I really hope I can do something, I'm gunna talk to my parents about phoning the SPCA and finding out what it applies to. Later

Hopefully the SPCA will listen. Usually they're good about taking some sort of action with neglected animals, because most of them are tree hugging hippies like me I've walked into numerous pet stores (mainly petco) and seen reptiles in sad, sad shape. If I could, I'd have my own animal sactuary/rehabilitation center where I could rescue all of the abused and neglected animals. I haven't won the lottery yet though, so, it's not going to happen until I do.

San Francisco, the agency with the power to do something is called Animal Care and Control, you report cases like this to them. In our city, we got Petco to help clean up its act some, there is/was a lawsuit to get them to stop selling animals, due to cases of neglect

Thats exactly what I want to happen, either shape up or stop being allowed to sell those type of animals. If I cant do anything about it legally I'll hafta talk to them about heating the encloser, feeding, and changing the water, all of which they dont do. If the SPCA will do something I have a pretty good case, even people that dont know anything about reptiles walk in there and know their being neglected.
