Unknown snake in Karnataka, India

Hi all!

I almost stepped on this snake in Karnataka, India. So I'm really curious to know what kind of snake it is. I'd be happy if you could identify this snake for me. Thanks a lot for your assistance.

That would be an Indian Brown Vine Snake (Ahaetulla pulverulenta). Really cool snake, but very weird looking. Those guys in the genus ahaetulla give me the visual "heebie-jeebies"! It's their heads, esp. the eyes! Great find!

great, that's it! Thank you. It looked like a twig on the street. I'm planning to go to a Tiger Reserve in the Western Ghats this weekend. Most probably there'll be more work for you afterwards.
