New box turtles, ID help needed please

Lucille May 29, 2007 05:49 AM

I have two very small box turtles I acquired from a family who did not want them any longer. I have already fixed a nice indoor home for them and am looking into plans for an outdoor area they can enjoy.

I am trying to ID these guys, links to sites with pix that might help would be appreciated.

Do you have pictures? It's hard to point you towards a website with ID pictures when we've no idea what the turtle looks like, or even where you are from.

try

It is a good online key for identifying turtles.
It takes a while to load all of the photos after hitting search, so be patient and remember to scroll down to see them.

Also check the photos in kingsnakes photo album.

You might get a good idea as to which species you have by looking at the page below. If you could post pics Im sure there would be more help in identifying them. Have you ever kept Box Turtles before?

I have set up an indoor place for them, I've used sheet moss sprayed down with water as part of the substrate and they seem to like this, what do y'all use?
