So...I'm waiting around for my largest most dependable breeder female to drop me a nice big clutch. I usually get between 9 and 11 eggs out of her, and after a year off I was hoping for that many or more this year. Needless to say, I was just a little disappointed when I looked in to see her on (only) 7 eggs. I put the eggs on my scale and they weighed in at 979 grams. That's 140 grams per egg. I think I remember hearing about folks who had 2 and 3 egg clutches that had similar per egg weights, but I was pretty surprised that a 7 egg clutch could weigh so much. I don't always weigh each clutch. Its not an important part of my husbandry. From what I can remember though about the ones I have weighed, the average is usually about 100 grams or so per egg. Anybody else have some of this kind of data to share? Pics to follow.....

I guess no matter what we do, or plan on, it's always up to them. Awesome clutch anyway. Look at it this way, when those hatch, they'll already be the size of yearlings. Haha. Good luck with them.
