Silly question-

antr1 May 29, 2007 11:02 AM

This nice long weekend gave me some extra time to spend in my snake room, changing litter and cleaning containers and such.

After that I took some time to shred all my delinquent bill notices (which I can't pay because I keep adding snakes to my collection).

The question is has anyone ever tried to use the shredded paper as bedding? I know people use newspaper and paper towels, so would it be harmful to use shredded bills and such? The snakes can still burrow in it like aspen. I don’t know of the ink used would be a problem. Newsprint is apparently ok, other then it rubs off on the snakes.

Also I think it could be fine for my breeder mice, although it might not keep the odor down very well. But it would be cheap.

Maybe if I don’t have to buy shavings I can pay some of those bills.

It is also economical to steal your neighbors newpapers left in the driveway to use as bedding.

Now That's Funny..

And, although i have never actually stole my neighbors newspaper.. i have run out of newspaper while cleaning my cages and have asked my neighbor if i can have their old newspapers..

I have a small store near me, they give me any unsold papers I want, they have to take a sliver of the front page to recieve credit and usually discard the rest.
