Bullsnake lengths...

azatrox May 29, 2007 11:50 AM

Can anyone tell me which lines being bred grow up to be monsters? I love Pituophis and would love to have a monster bull...by monster I mean 6 ft ...

I do know that bullsnake sizes can vary quite a bit with locality, so I'm wondering what lines get the largest and who breeds them...

Thanks...

Highway 277 is the locality you're looking for. They can reach lengths of 8ft . Most pit breeders have a line of these but check cherryville reptiles.

Thanks a bunch!

for "big bulls" the highway 277 bloodline is what you want. i believe that john cherry is on hiatus from breeding at this time- double check. others to check in with would be shannon brown, john ginter or home grown herps. these guys regularly appear in this forum. i am sure there are other reputable breeders that i can't think of right at the moment.

From what I have seen I believe that the Texas locality Bullsnakes are the largest in lenght and girth. I breed a line of Texas Bulls that grow quite large. My female is 8 feet in length and the male is around the 7 foot mark. The offspring of these two large Bulls produce babies that come out of the egg almost as thick as your thumb and approx 10" long.

Here is a pic of my wife holding the female just after brumation this season, so she is not quite up to full girth.

Sorry lads, not sure how to post more than one URL if it's not in the Kingsnake gallery. Anyway this is the last pic of our female Bull.

How do those texas bulls match up with Kansas bulls as far as size goes?

I have never kept Kansas Bulls, so I really don't know their size potential. This line of Texas Bull that I have grows anywhere from 6.5 to 8.5 feet in lenght with an average of about 7.5 feet. They have a massive girth though.

I seel these snakes for $75 Canadian because I live in the great white north. That would translate to apprx $65 USD.

Are there any morphs in the south texas variety? One of the biggest bulls I've seen girth-wise is this snow bull -

And I believe this one is a WC from Oklahoma.

Those snakes look awesome. Who sells these large Texas Bull Snakes? I have money... (but it goes quick)

That big female is in the nest box as I write this, but no babies for sale yet. Last year she laid 19 good eggs. We will see what happens this year.
