Panacur/Fenbendazole????

TNsnakeman May 29, 2007 05:52 PM

I have always used Panacur/Fenbendazole(the liquid form) for parasite treatment in my snakes and it seems to always work effectively. I inject the drug into a food item and give it to my snakes and then repeat in 2 weeks for 3 seperate treatments. Is this an effective way to use this drug or is there something else that should be done? I de-worm once a year as a precaution. The only problem I have ever had is regurgation in kingsnakes only. None of my other species seem to have any negative effects at all. Thanks for any help.

That should work as long as you are getting the 25 mg/kg dosage into each snake. Curious as to why you are treating as a precaution, what do you believe could be a possible exposure source to your snakes for the target parasites?
