Hibernation

Corn Aug 15, 2003 11:21 PM

I had an idea about hibernation, but I'm not sure if it will work. I was thinking of putting my corn snakes in tupperware cases with water in there, and then putting the cases in a small fridge and control the temperature from there. Living in Arizona, it's hard, even in the winter, to keep a temperature of 50 F or so. Just an idea that came to me all the sudden. If anyone who lives in these warm conditions can help me out I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Hello Ryan, Gregg here. I think this method would work, but be very careful the thermostat doesn't go bad or that they don't have enough air for breathing. It doesn't sound like the best method to me, but living where i do, i have no idea what to tell you for sure. I'm sure someone on here will be able to help you out more than I. I have trouble keeping my room above 20 degrees some days here, lol, so i'm not much help for your situation.
Best of luck!

Gregg F.
