Heart Broken

PHEve May 29, 2007 10:34 PM

Sometimes things happen in clusters, the past few days have been that way. My heart is very sad tonight , I lost my beautiful first born Vestigium, the handsome Chippewa. I'm not sure what was wrong, just seemed to come out from a rock in a weakened state over the weekend. Since he's a free roamer, I thought it best to put him in a tank and nurse him a bit, but he just did not come around and I lost my little friend.

He ran the reptile room with his pal KONG for the past 4 years, and they had a wonderful time ( I believe) He would follow my feet as I gave out bugs to everybody and I would purposely drop a few knowing he was there.
I loved seeing him jump from rock to rock( I have a small rock garden type set up here and there for them , he would stand tall and head bob at all the males in the tanks that he could see, Almost rubbing it in, that he was out and Romping. He was a FINE looking fella , I'm sorry I never got to mate him. But he seemed to enjoyed molesting KONG,

Gosh I will miss him. I also lost a lovely female Panther chameleon Coconut, Cadberrys lady. She was gravid, 2nd clutch and died due to egg laying complications. Been one of those terrible times you hope passes QUICKLY.

Thanks for listening!

He was a great looking lizard. I sure didn't expect to hear that he was gone. As you know, this happens for unknown reasons all the time to all of us.

You're right...at least he had Kong. You sicko. ;O)

Thanks to all my lizard loving pals Your the best. And I know you all have been there, and understand.

*** It's good to have a place to be able to "CRUMBLE" over your pet lizards sometimes, where ya feel comforted because many non-lizard loving people just blow ya off as in come on now it's a lizard. That's if you even tell them......

So Thanks

Eve,
Sorry to hear about your C. vestigium and panther chameleon. It is a bummer to lose a lizard. I lost 3 in about a weeks period.
2 females that were egg bound and a female granite spiny from an unknown reason. I guess it's bound to happen but knowing that doesn't make it any easier.

Sorry to hear you just lost a few Will, yeah it really is a bummer! Sorry to hear of your granite s. girl , shame. Wish we could do more for eggbinding problems when they arise.

I know when you keep as many pet lizards as we do, things will happen, but it does not make it feel any better when ya do. Thankfully it does not happen often, I couldn't take it.

I get too darn wrapped up in them all, some have very powerful presence though, They let ya know they are there, lol Chippewa was one like that, he and KONG ruled the roast so to speak.

Thanks again!

I'm so sorry to hear of your losses, Eve. Chippewa, Coconut and the egg -- a lot to deal with all in one weekend.
