obsessed ?????????

FRoberts May 30, 2007 11:53 AM

I have found a more appropriate adjective:

Main Entry: pos·sessed

Function: adjective

1 a (1) : influenced or controlled by something (as an evil spirit or a passion) (2) : MAD , CRAZED b : urgently desirous to do or have something

2 obsolete : held as a possession

3 : SELF -possessed, calm
- pos·sessed·ly/-'ze-s&d-le, -'zest-le also -'se-s&d- or -'sest-/ adverb
- pos·sessed·ness/-'ze-s&d-n&s, -'zest-n&s also -'se-s&d- or -'sest-/ noun

Want some proof, I say some..... because this is a small excerpt of what possesses me..........

Frank if counseling does help the herp addiction please let me know Beautiful pics for a man with no camera btw and nice pythons-I really like the yellowhead and the tiger the best, even better than that real nice male from Jeff but those pythons are pimp and I maybe a little bit of a sellout to the brb community but I see the true beauty in those animals and I want my own tiger too
Bob

FRoberts May 30, 2007 12:32 PM

of those pictures, some are taken by two of my good friends ( John & Jim ) the rest where taken from the people I purchased the snakes from. I realy should get a camera and learn to take my own pictures. Most of my collection is not represented in those pictures.

Reticulated Pythons
Burmese Pythons
African Rock Pythons
Ball Pythons
Blood Pythons
Jungle Carpet Pythons
Jungle/Diamond Pythons
Macklots Python
Coastal Carpet Python

Boa's in current collection:

BCI's
Amazon Tree Boas
Dumeril Boas
Rainbow Boas
Yellow Anacondas

Clubrids in current collection:

I love frog, toads, and salamanders as much as the reptiles. I used keep Arrow Poison frogs, man that was an obsession, also used to keep Mole salamanders, not too easy to keep, but worth the extra effort, they attack food like miniture alligators lol

Your telling me.. I have alot more darts then I care to admit publically.. they are fun little critters!!

They are truly a sight to behold in a properly planted viv. For example, I mixed a few different specie in a large well planted viv. ( I know it's not a Good idea, sue me twice ). There was, in my opinion, enough room for them to establish mini-territories ( this is my opinion from things I had observed, some are or seem to be highly territorial ). They all seemed to separate themselves from one another, in groups. As you know, tincs are quite large in comparison to other types of arrow frogs. I had this tiny ( about the size of a average thumb nail ) Epidobates boulengeri that established itself in a small portion of the viv. I know why some call them "Bulldogs". That tiny frog literally would push the tincs out of this/his area. He also charged ( best adjective to describe the frogs movements.) a Dendrobates leucomelas and completely flipped the frog over on it's back. The size difference between the two is best described as david and goliath. Only drawback to these frogs in my opinion, is procuring or rearing your food source to keep then properly fed. Pain in the BUTT, Especially when the company I used to get my crickets from, omitted to send the pinhead crickets in a tube like they ordinarily come in. They where loose in the box, and well, when I opened it , you would not believe such a little cricket could jump like that and escape in such high numbers in a matter of a few seconds. I had the nerve to call the company and complain hehe

Bob,
..How is the physical therapy going? While I was doing mine before surgery it was frustrating to be able to strengthen some muscles and get more fit but still have the back problems keeping me from doing as much as I wanted. I was kayaking twice over the weekend and seem to be on the way to full recovery. I do hope things work out as well for you.

strictly4fun May 30, 2007 11:53 PM

my back is slowly getting better but when I walk for 5 minutes my lower back just feels like it is on fire so to speak and I should be getting my 2nd cortizone shot in the shoulder on the 13th (it wore off about 2 weeks ago) and I should be getting a steroid injection in the back to see if it helps just waiting on the lawyer to schedule me an appointment and I'm running over there lol. Physical therapy is getting very old as I've been going since Oct so I am ready for a change of pace but I am at a great clinic though and the atmosphere is great too. Just wish I can go back to work to make some money so I don't go to far in the red column but then I won't be around the computer as much so I am enjoying it as much as I can in the meantime. Oh yeah my neck is getting better but I still can't check my blind spot in the car but the shooting pains isn't as often which is real good that is straight up aggravating, I still get them when I extend my arm(s) all the out to lean out for stuff but all in all I'm still ticking so I'm not gonna complain haha lol
Bob

African Rocks the other dark side

so that is why I asked how mean they were yesterday but they got some nice photos posted on the retic forum last couple of days one of which you responded to but man I have to get one when money permits me too seriously

If you get one ( arock )try and get a captive bred one, they seem to be a lot more laid back, I have had some wild imports over the years, those can be mean sob's, One of my possible het patternless may as well be wild caught attitude wise. The female just has a strong feeding responce, the male is just plain agro

Dave you have problems, I thought I just went to your "220 pic post" but no complaints on my end though Coral looks a lot bigger than Ruby so I'm hoping she can go next year for you for sure so I can get some offspring baby. Remember how I was telling you like the dark reds as opposed to the oranges on hypos? Well the recent pics you took out in the sun of Reeses looks pretty dark and very much to my liking, is HE dark like that now since HE is getting older and the peanut butter color is changing to a darker color or what?
Bob

rainbowsrus May 30, 2007 03:06 PM

LOL, not 220, just 80 some odd. I trimmed it back to one per snake.

Yeah Coral is larger and may go this year, Ruby is a better coral but smaller and will have to wait another year for her

Reeses is insane red, always has been. Nothoing light about him!! The daylight pics caught him in a darker mood than usual. He's mid cycle now and just ate a nice meal Monday. So no coming out to play.

Reeses partner next year or is everything still up in the air being that you don't know which females will be ready. How about Reese and cherry salmon ooohhhlllaaaalllaaaahhh or is that a dumb pairing in your opinion and you would rather go all cherry and cherries lol that sounds funny
Bob

rainbowsrus May 30, 2007 03:30 PM

Well, honestly still in flux. Will be making closer decisions on that as the summer ends. Yeah, is really based on the females and who is ready. I really to breed Reeses to a coral albino for DH sunglows with the ultimate goal being coral sunglows (Reeses style). But my priority for the corals is motley coral albino's so if only one is ready, then the motley boys get first crack at her!!

I could and probably will mix reeses into the cherry girls but not a priority and the cherry girls will not be ready until 08/09 at the earliest.

I really do want to go double dose cherry salmon and see what pops out, will there be more red??

Frank,
..Very nice collection. My favorite Retics by far are the normals.

Mine to jeff, most of my retics are "regular" and I feel the same as you do. Plus, they make the best looking albinos, much much prettier than albino tigers and supers.

Thanks Jeff,

The classics are also my favorite, this would be obvious if one saw my entire collection. Plus they make the best looking / patterned albinos as well ( opinion ). Albino tigers & Supertigers pale in comparrison. ( esp the purple phase ), the white phase is no slouch either!!!!!!!!

Tell me about it... I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I bought my first snake. It didn't take long for the snake bug to bite.

I love your Pits (I know that sounds wierd... but you know what I mean..lol) and of course your BRB's. Retics are beautiful, but too big for me.

Thanks for the compliment!!

Yes, I do know what you mean!!!!

Since, I have not posted any nude pics of myself, it was quite easy to figure out what you meant, good thing, I may have not been able to put that together otherwise
