WTF Post from August 4th...

BeamerFrog Aug 16, 2003 12:42 AM

I was reading some messages that were posted earlier in the month, and went into the one where someone's WTF's toes were twitching. It caught my eye because one of my WTF's toes twitch during feeding time. I've never seen his full leg twitch, and during no other time other than feeding. I just assume it's the anticipation of the meal. I clean the water daily, and use Spring water. I remove feces from the cage, and have EcoEarth that I purchase from PetCo as a substrate-I've been using it for quite some time now. Got 3 medium sized WTF in a 40 gallon tall aquarium...4 snake plants, resting hammock, and some branches to climb on. Just clearing up the idea of having the possibilty be Redleg. No symptoms of Redleg either-good appetite, activity level's fine, good skin condition, etc. I guess I just wanted to share one of my experiences of "the twitch." Not my medical opinion or anything...because I have no clue what the twitching would be related to, again other than the anticipation to lunge after the meal, but anyways. And to be more specific, it's only in one toe. The longest toe on the back legs. Happens in both of them. Only on the one frog; haven't noticed it on any others.

Some frogs use the toe twitching as a lure. My Christmas Toads do it everytime if the crickets stop moving.
