If my memory serves me correctly, the ones with that pattern and color where eggs that you incubated away from the rest of the clutch. Pattern anomalies, as you know, can be caused by temperature variations during incubation. I could flip a coin and guess. They either are, or they are not, inheritable traits.

Let's hope that is genetic in nature. I would have kept that snake, even if I somehow knew it wasn't an inheritable trait.

That blood is off the charts color and pattern wise!!!!!!!!

Frank,

Yes The two abberent males where in the incubator when hatched.

They are most likely abberant due to temp fluctuations.

However the female (Ruby) is know to throw Melted wide striped patterns.

I will know for sure if the Wild Melty patterns are genetic this season.

By the way, Where did you get that blood?

Nice yellow girl.

Thanks, Well actually it's a Boy....

I purchased it as a "female sumatran red blood" from QualityRainbowBoas.com, well, turns out it is a male and a yellow phase, it looked identical to a typical "red" as a neonate then blossomed, I am glad I kept it, I almost sent it back because it was not sexed correctly. Glad I kept him!!!!

I still hope yours is genetic, although only time will tell, still keepers regardless!!!!

I have another blood, I need to get a pic and post, when I do, I will ask you for your opinion on this one. I won it at an auction at the Philly NARBC several years back, it was donated by pro exotics, looked like an ordinary "red neonate" but when It hit adult hood, it changed to this UNREAL "copper" like color, it's actually hard to describe, I have never seen anything like it honestly. Also a male. I have 3 males, Started with one, tried to buy a "female" on two different occasions from two different sources. I am certain they are all males, all probe male and also are somewhat high strung and evert their hemipenes when handled, I know females can sometimes make people believe their males, I know the difference between a male's hemipene and a female's musk gland.

I have been admiring your bloods for quite some time, maybe someday, you can sell me an actual female. lol

do yellow's breed true? or can one get a "variety" from a yellow to yellow breeding, I have read in some old literature that you can get "all phases" from these breedings, but am not so sure if that info is current.

Thanks again....

That's a GOOD question!!!

The female (Ruby) was bred to a Yellow male and produced a high percentage of Orange Bloods that will most likely will turn Red.

They wher a couple that looked like they might turn yellow like their father.

Through generations of Selective breedings they are now finding that a lot of colors and Patterns are BREEDING TRUE.

For example....Kara has a True Yellow Bloodline that are producing All Yellow bloods. Some with silver heads and some with a Powder Grey heads.Killers !!!

Kevin marter bred two Red,Red adults producing an ALL RED clutch.

The liter was all red with varying degrees of dark reds to a very bright red animals.

I will be breeding a Ox Blood Female to a Dark red male and I hope to produce all RED clutch.

I will also be proving out the females Thick Melty Pattern to see if she breeds true like her last clutch.

Yeah it will be very exciting.

By the way I LOVE your Carpets.

The wide stripe patterns are Amazing and the colorsare unreal !!!!

I will own a pair some day when I have more room.

Thanks for all the info on the blood breeding's, it would make sense that they bred true. I was thinking perhaps at first they may not because of the genes of all patterns colors etc..being internal to either parent, but once they where bred to only the same color, the other possible colors would eventually be bred out, I hope I just explained that how I am thinking it lol.

you also said, "By the way I LOVE your Carpets."

which ones are you referring to?

where did I post them?

I do have some carpets; coastal, JCP, and Jungle/Diamonds.

But to date have not produced any. So either I posted some pic's of mine or maybe you confused me with someone else.

Just wondering aloud!!!
