PICs, Dialup warning!

Jeff Clark May 30, 2007 10:25 PM

This first one is a male Brazilian Rainbow Boa, Epicrates cenchria cenchria named Lorio. People who have been around Rainbow Boas for awhile will know where that name and the snake came from.

This next photo is one of my 2003 females.

Next are two PICs of some of my 2005 female Peruvian Rainbow Boas, Epicrates cenchria gaigei. These were produced by Craig McSherry. Two of my adults look just like these snakes.

This next one is a gravid 1997 BRB. She was fathered by Branco. I still have Branco breeding here. He has fathered several hundred babies.

Next is one of my 2003 male BRBs in the bath.

These next two PICs are my yellow female BRB. I got this snake in 1992 from Tom Ctrutchfield. It produced two litters in the mid 90s and none since.

Caught another Southern Copperhead this afternoon. This one is pretty small. When they are born they have sulfur yellow to light green colored tails. Like many other baby Agkistrodons they do some caudal luring when small. As they get bigger the tail turns darker and then later more brown like the rest of the body.

This next one is a 2005 male with bullseyes from Dave Colling. He is all blowed up after eating a big meal last night.

This one is a 2006 Craig McSherry Peruvian. The snakes from his 2006 litter are more orange than the 2005 litter.

This next one is a 2004 female BRB in the bath. The snake in the background is a 2004 male.

I posted other PICs of this 2002 Walsh Clown Phase female BRB just the other day.

This next one is one of my 2004 female BRBs. She had these different looking spots on the sides so I kept her. Until recently her color was disappointing but she is getting better.

This next one is my 2005 het hypo BRB male I got from Celia and Sean at Exotics By Nature. I would keep him even if he was not a het. He had a big meal last night.

This next one is one of my gravid 2003 females.

She decided to say goodby by waving her tongue at you.

Wow Jeff, those are amazing animals! I've gotta say that your 1997 BRB that was fathered by Branco is my favorite of that picture line up. Love her color and pattern. Has she got a name?

Tim,
...I have seen a few PICs that looked this yellow. There was someone who used to post on the boa forum and then on this forum when it first started who had one. I think it produced babies as recently as 2004.

Nice pics and thanks for sharing Jeff. I really like the 2005 Peruvians, that 1997 gravid one, but that 2004 female with the weird spots for crescents definately caught my eye, the het hypo is looking awesome with those smack in the face colored crescents but where is Sunkist? I really like that one a lot but you got so many of those brb's it's hard to take pics of all of them but she is prolly pregnant though. Best of luck with all those litters btw

..He has been breeding with females for several years now. I have never kept a female with just him thru breeding season and have not had a litter from a female that was bred solely by him so I am not sure which babies he has fathered.

Do I even need to say Nice collection? Those are some great looking snakes Jeff. It also looks like you are gearing up to take the title of Most Babies again this year.

I'd like to think that I know a thing or two about rainbow boas but Lorio isn't ringing any bells. I give up...

my happy place(that post is somewhere in this thread).

I got my wisdom teeth out yesterday and I've been having to put ice on my face for 15 minutes....then have to keep it off for 15 minutes. So I pretty much have no time to do anything. When I do have the time to do something, I've been watching Animal Planet watching....well....everything(note: My life does NOT revolve around me posting in this forum all the time.).

I feel kinda bad. My little rat is getting more attention than my big boy Rocky. Before anyone even jokes, I will NOT resolve by feeding her to him....she is much too big!

Plus Rocky needs his cage cleaned....and this surgery has delayed me from being able to carry this deed out.
