Help choosing substrate

I have a Russian tort ordered and I am setting up his enclosure. I was wondering what do you think is the best substrate for him?
The tort is around two years old.

I use 1/4 clean sand, 1/4 organic peat moss, and 1/2 organic top soil. They seem to like it because they can burrow down in it and maintenance is pretty easy.
