I just built my first snake rack today! It is 6 levels and it came out good. It holds 6 31qt tubs or 12 12qt tubs. I built it out of 3/4" particle board and I cut out all the pieces I needed out of one 4'x8' piece! All the wood for it cost me only $10. I am really happy with it. I will put the heat on the back of it as soon as my Flexwatt shows up in the mail.
Thanks,
Kevin

First, I would like to ask what type of snake are you gonna use the rack for?

Second, I've used particle boards before.... and I certainly hope you had waterproofed the "ceiling". One thing I notice about homemade rack shelves is that if the water spills, the heat tape would heat the water enough to make it evaporate and condensation would collect on the "ceiling" of every shelf, thus expanding particle board to a point where it would come apart. Just a friendly advice!

Hope this helps! Good luck!

I will be using it for Graybands, Corns, and Cal Kings. Thanks for the waterproofing advice. What would you recommend to use to waterproof it?
Thanks,
Kevin
