I saw my gecko stand on his tail last night. I heard about them being able to do that, but I'd never seen it before. It was so cute! Kind of like having an extra leg for support.

He was trying to climb up the side of the humid hide, which is a plastic container, so he had all his hands and feet up trying to get a grip on the container while he leaned on his tail. It looked like he was actually pushing on the floor with his tail to get that extra thrust up onto the humid hide. And he had a really intense look on his face. I should've taken a picture.

My baby Boo does that too, Popeye did it once when he was a baby. He managed to get on top of the air thermometer! I had their reptile hammock right by it, and he must have gotten just the right footing. He scared the heart out of me when he inevitably fell down. Thank goodness he hasn't managed that one again.
