When is the next session?
Can we find a Representative and Senator to co-author the amendment from HB 2414 into this law?
and push this through as fast as possible... We need to start talking to people now while the wounds are fresh, so they see the need. If we wait a few years there is a good chance that they will see that this law pushed our hobby underground and will be less inclined to help us at that point. We need to assume the worst and get people behind us now and get some promises.. I will work with my local house Rep and Senator as well as talk to the office of Isett, Gallego, King, etc that backed the exclusion (at least in the end they backed it). Treat them as allies, ask for help, and let them know that they will be undoing a piece of dirty politics.... Make them feel like it is a chance to be knight in shining armor.

But as much as waiting sucks, it is a strong option to fix this...

It will be much easier if the person that attached those riders did not win re-election by 2009

I could move across the river into Real County and run against the Hildebeast, but I have a few skeletons in the closet that I wouldn't want getting out LOL. I doubt that I'd win, given that I could only in good conscience run on a Libertarian ticket. But perhaps someone running against him, period, and highlighting these issues (dirty politics and riders) would serve a positive purpose, anyway?

That would make a great bumper sticker. Of coure another bumper sticker that I think would be appropriate is "I'd vote for a snake before I'd vote for Hilderbran!" Maybe we could get them printed and distributed all across his district.

BTW, he is from Kerrville and I found while researching various animal control ordinances in central Texas that Kerrville has a rather restrictive ordinance when it comes to reptiles. Makes me wonder if 'hilderbum' might have had his fingers in that one too.
