I just had a long conversation

Aaron May 31, 2007 03:18 PM

with a person who I will not name. He was very upset saying that he has gotten calls with foul language and alot of disrespect. He made it very clear that anyone who speaks in that manner will be completely disregarded. I think they should be too.
He said if this passes they will be willing to work with us on future legislation that would allow for recreational collecting but that he is fundamentaly oppose to commercial collecting because it is the selling of a public resourse. I forgot to mention that fish are commercially harvested. The conversation was positive in that he seemed willing to talk in a civilized manner about our concerns as hobbyists but very dishearting that the dispespectful behavior of some is providing fuel against us and has closed minds.

Aaron, it makes no difference if a recource is bieng collected and sold if you possess the commercial permit. That is what some of us are paying for. That is why it is in place! Some people are paying the price to do this along with a regular hunting license.

PS. What I do find convenient for TPW is being able to log timber. How convenient this is for them!

you should have also mentioned that TP&W has a white in place to determine what can and can't be sold. Bag limits and possesion limits can also effectively deal with commercial issues.

Please let's everyone remain respectful, they can NOT help us if we do not respect these folks.

If if the above no-named individual is reading I apologize profusely for my cell phone dieing during our conversation. Please call me back.
